Faculty Leader - Science

We are looking for someone with a clear vision to secure the very best outcomes for our students within the Science Faculty  and have the strategic leadership skills to deliver significant improvements. The successful applicant will be an excellent practitioner who has the vision, energy and drive to further improve standards of achievement and ensure teaching is of the highest quality across all key stages. In addition to this, you will be totally committed to our vision of creating a remarkable learning environment in which all students can enjoy their learning and succeed. You will have a track record of excellent classroom practice, be committed to high standards of learning and student progress with the energy and vision to build on current progress and have ambitions for yourself and our school.  

We have a very dedicated team of science specialists and support technicians who are fully committed to making our Science Faculty a vibrant and dynamic learning environment within which all our students can succeed. This is coupled with our brand new Science facilities opened in April 2018 which offer 15 laboratories, each equipped with the latest interactive technologies and audio-visual facilities, a fantastic large preparation room that services the laboratories including one staff work room. Science education is at the heart of the School’s future development. Beckfoot Oakbank has a great range of resources, including an information rich environment and state of the art sporting facilities. 

The successful applicant will:

· be an excellent and ambitious classroom teacher;

· have a proven and demonstrable track record of success at GCSE and A Level;

· have middle management experience in a science department. We welcome applications from current Assistant Faculty Leaders or Science TLR holders. You will be fully supported to develop into this important role and have a mentor)

· have a good understanding of the current educational developments, especially those relating to classroom based practice;

· have the highest expectations of students;

· have an enthusiastic and positive approach within and beyond the classroom; 

· have energy, stamina and a sense of humour

Beckfoot Oakbank is an 11-18 co-ed school with approximately 1500 students. It is located in Keighley. It joined the Beckfoot Multi Academy Trust in September 2016. It did so because of its ambition to create a great school and improve rapidly. The school moved into a brand new £30m purpose built campus at Easter and has appointed a new Headteacher to start in June 2018.

Beckfoot Trust consists of 9 Bradford schools, all comprehensive in character that cross mainstream secondary/ primary and special sectors. The Trust is already having significant impact with a number of outstanding schools and we are excited about the potential of a school led model to transform learning environments across our group of schools so that all of our young people and staff will flourish.
