The Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Faculty Leader for Science.  The successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher with high expectations and the ability to enthuse and motivate both students and staff. 

This is a key appointment and represents an excellent opportunity for a quality practitioner wanting to develop their career.  There will be strong professional development opportunities for the successful candidate in teaching and learning and leadership.

The Sutton Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in St Helens, Merseyside. It is part of a single-academy trust called The Sutton Academy Trust and sponsored by St Helens College. The school will provide 1550 places to secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.

The school opened as a new provision in September 2010.

The school places an emphasis on collaboration and teamwork, shown by its mission statement “Together Students Achieve”. It is part of an environment that aims to respect the individual needs of its students, allowing for social and emotional - as well as physical and intellectual -development for all the children involved. Ensuring that the academic work moves at a pace that benefits all students, there is a Student Development Centre for vulnerable students, alongside support for student literacy, numeracy and behavioural and social skills.

With its role as both a secondary school and a sixth form college, it is an academy that always strives to provide the highest quality of continuity possible for students at each stage of their education.
