35 hours per week. Term time plus 5 days.

We are looking to appoint a Family Intervention Leader. This is a new post at Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge. In our constant drive to improve the lives of the young people in our care, we have identified the need for this service. In the first instance this is offered on a 9 month contract, as this covers the rest of the academic year.

The GCSE results in the Summer of 2018 were a validation of the work which we have already undertaken in the Academy. The results our students obtained means the Academy can now be recognised as the most improved school in Yorkshire. However, we are determined not to rest on our laurels and are always looking for ways to better serve our students.

Our aspirations and ambitions are high. If you believe you have the vision to be part of the transformation of the education of young people at Sowerby Bridge, then this vacancy presents a fantastic opportunity.

The purpose of the role is to provide support to students, ensuring that all learners are guided, as appropriate and that their progress is regularly monitored and reviewed. You will closely with the Education Welfare Officer, Attendance Officer and House Manager Team to ensure that pupils achieve the best outcomes.

Communication skills are essential for this role, you will liaise daily with relevant staff across the academy and multi-agency teams to support the welfare and pastoral support for identified vulnerable students.

You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious forward-thinking Academy Trust that sets the standards for our family of schools and academies.

Start date:  As soon as possible

Closing date:  9.00am  on 7 November 2018

Interviews:  8 November 2018

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.

It is a very exciting time to be considering joining Trinity Academy Grammar.  We can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).

As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress.
