This role will effectively liaise with parents and the family to ensure the best outcomes for pupils and oversee all aspects of attendance management within the school.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills/Abilities

· Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills both orally and in writing

· Ability to empathise with parents/guardians whilst retaining ability to remain objective ensuring the needs of the child are always paramount

· A patient and active listener

·Ability to handle sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality where necessary

· Excellent organisational skills and confident use of IT

· Ability to deal with difficult situations sensitively and effectively

·Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with classroom staff and as a whole-school team

·Ability to adapt to different situations and show initiative

Knowledge

· Understanding of the individual needs and characteristics of pupils, particularly those with special educational needs, and their families.

· Safeguarding polices and procedures

·Supervision and behaviour management techniques

Experience

· Previous experience in a similar role

· Experience of resolving problems and handling challenging situations

· Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
