Job overview

Here at Hall Cliffe School, we strive to change young, vulnerable lives every day and as a Family Liaison Officer, you’ll have the chance to help us. With your help, our professionals can support children and young people with special educational needs.

On a daily basis you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless coordination between our busy teams to facilitate the educational partnership between home, school, the wider school community and Local Authority. By offering support, liaison and negotiation; and where conflict arises, to act as a facilitator in finding successful resolutions.

Quite simply, we will look to you to make sure our new children and young people’s needs are fully recognised and comprehensively met.  You will work as part of the school’s administration team and report directly to the Head Teacher for this crucial role. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other members of the Witherslack Group team in different locations to enable you to progress and develop your skills and knowledge.  Equally as important is keeping the administration aspect of the role up to date and being able to provide meeting notes and letters when needed.

To join us, you will ideally have experience of being part of a team that works with young people and their families. Office and administration experience would also be valuable, together with outstanding interpersonal and problem resolution skills.  A genuinely empathetic approach is also essential.  Finally, you must be ready to take the lead and use your initiative, and you will need a full UK driving licence.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, we’re proud to have won a reputation for excellence. Our aspirational homes, schools and ethos help us achieve the best possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Rewards

We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You will receive a competitive salary, 35 days holidays, contributory pension (matched up to 5%) and a comprehensive induction, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax-free childcare vouchers.
