Mayfield School Chestnut Centre are seeking an exceptional individual to undertake the role of Family Support Worker. You will need to demonstrate outstanding communication skills, the ability to form relationships with hard to reach families and the ability to gain and maintain the trust of families alongside professional boundaries. 

You will need to be a positive advocate for education and openly supportive of the ethos of the school. 

The role requires you to work alongside school staff in supporting parents, children and families in providing early intervention, focussed support, securing a high level of pupil attendance and crisis management. 

In this role you will be the first point of contact in the school for children and families in need of a service and provide immediate support where necessary, undertaking the appropriate referrals process e.g Targeted Help, Young Carers 

You will also need to support the local services agenda to encourage parental involvement in activities to benefit themselves and their families. 

At times you will represent the school at multi-agency safeguarding meetings and assist in the decision making process. 

To undertake this role you will need to have resilience, patience and a sense of humour. You will have experience in providing training and support programmes for parents and carers. 

Experience in a similar role is essential.
