Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to engage with families of students and help them to be fully involved with educational opportunities. You will need to have empathy and understanding of different family circumstances and barriers to learning. Key components will be excellent communication skills with parents, students, staff and external agencies, resilience and efficient administration. It is essential that you can demonstrate an ability to work with a range of people at all levels, especially young people.

You should be able to use your organisational skills to bring about sustained change with individual students, to improve their behaviour and attendance. 

The Learning Alliance is looking for a good team player that has an enthusiastic attitude and a natural ability to support and encourage our students and their families. The role is suited to someone who can work independently and unsupervised. Applicants must be able to drive to other sites as there could  be the requirement to work across other Crewe schools within the Trust.

37 hours per week. 39 weeks per year (term-time plus one week)

Full year salary: £22,129 - £24, 921 (full-time equivalent) 

Actual salary: £19,010-21,408 (pro-rata)
