We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and energetic person to act as a Family Support Worker. The successful applicant will work under the direction of our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Pastoral Support Manager to provide support to families to help reduce barriers to learning. The effects of the Covid Pandemic have heightened the need for the school to provide direct support to families and builds upon the work done by the DSL and Pastoral Support Manager over the last 18 months. The contract is initially for a one-year period as it is part of our strategy to support recovery from the effects of the pandemic on our families. The post will offer a tremendous opportunity to help support families to work in tandem with the school to help achieve the best possible outcomes to ensure that pupils make the necessary progress to fulfil their potential to ‘Be the best that they can be’.
This is a fixed term one year only contract, part time position for 21 hours per week (3 days per week) and term time only (39 weeks per year).
Brent Knoll is an all age (4 – 16 years) special school for children with a range of special educational needs. The majority of pupils have social and communication difficulties including autism. In September 2015 the school moved to a brand new purpose built building with outstanding facilities which have provided new and exciting opportunities for enriching the curriculum and learning.

£29,544 p.a. to £30,618 p.a. (this is the full time, all year round salary which will be PRO RATA for term time only, 21 hours per week, 39 weeks per year)
