A committed Family Support Worker is required to join the Woodvale Primary Academy, to provide an intensive support service for families.
The Woodvale Primary Academy, sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust is a vibrant and caring school located in Northampton. It has the capacity to cater for 420 pupils from Nursery to Year 6. Both the Academy and the Trust are committed to the improve the life chances of pupils and to safeguarding of children and wish to recruit someone who will not only share this ethos but someone who will continue to embed it into the Academy in order to help drive standards to “Outstanding”.
Working closely with parents/carers, you will support and assist them in building their engagement with their child’s learning to enable families to get the most out of the education opportunities available.
To be successful you will need:
• to have a good understanding of child development and the benefit of parent involvement;
• to be able to promote the rights and responsibilities of parents/carers in raising their children;
• demonstrating excellent communication skills;
• be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with both families, colleagues and external agencies;
• be a team player and will also be able to work on your own initiative;
• have a caring and empathetic nature.;
• experience in an educationally setting is desirable but not essential.
