Al Rabeeh Academy is seeking enthusiastic, dynamic, adaptable and committed female Swimming coach, with the ability to assist the PE Department as required for an immediate start.

The successful candidate will teach across primary and secondary and be expected to contribute time and energy into helping grow ARA Swimming Academy but will also be expected to assist the PE Department as and when required.

Al Rabeeh Academy is a beautiful, purpose built school, opened in August 2017 and is a part of a growing network of schools. The Al Rabeeh name has been synonymous throughout the city for high quality education and pastoral care since 1979. Our school is a member of British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) which provides excellent opportunities for inter-school competitions, tournaments and CPD.

Al Rabeeh Academy is a bilingual private school from FS1 to Year 13, delivering the English National Curriculum, alongside Arabic. Successful candidates will be highly committed team players with the drive, energy and passion to develop Al Rabeeh Academy, where there may be opportunities for internal promotion, as the academy grows.

Successful applicants will need to understand the ethos and values of Al Rabeeh Academy, a school with a high population of Arabic speaking students. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, confident in establishing open communication with students, staff and parents.

Applicants must be fluent English speakers and hold a relevant qualification to teach swimming to children. Current First Aid certificate is required.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

• The ability to plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the curriculum requirements

• That they can ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly

• That they make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments

• That they can identify students abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential

• That they can plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer

• That they can provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques

• That they can correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance

• That they are a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming

• Set ground rules for each session

• Evaluate sessions and give feedback

• They have the ability to teach across all ages

• A passion for enthusing young people about swimming

• An ability to organise schedules for students and parents when appropriate

• A strong emphasis and desire to be outstanding in learning, teaching and leading education and believe that children have the potential to reach the highest of expectations when in the right environment

• Experience of teaching EAL students

• A willingness to work evenings and weekends
