Scale: 3 £18,795 - £19,171; 

actual salary from £15,571 - £15,883 pro rata per annum term time only

Hours: 37 per week

We are looking for an individual to join the Laurus Trust family. The ideal candidate will need the following knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in financial management, budget monitoring and procurement
  • Ability to implement the principles of best value to maximise the resources of the Trust 
  • Minimum Math’s & English GCSE (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Experience of using academy financial software is desirable
  • Accountancy qualification e.g. AAT is desirable
  • Experience of working in an educational setting or Multi-Academy Trust is desirable
  • Excellent IT and data management skills in using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work accurately and with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Good team player/ability to accord with fellow workers
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise effectively

Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) is the founder school of the Laurus Trust and was judged Outstanding in every single category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015. A training school for thirteen years and a Teaching School for a further six, CHHS is also home to the Altius Alliance centre of excellence providing School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) for teachers of students aged 11-16, judged Outstanding in 2017. In 2016, Gorsey Bank Primary School (GB), a high performing primary school based in Wilmslow, joined the Trust. 

The Trust has opened four brand new free schools – Cheadle Hulme Primary School (CHPS), Laurus Cheadle Hulme (LCH), Laurus Ryecroft (LR) and the most recent in September 2019, Didsbury High School (DHS). The Laurus Alternative Provision School is in the pre-opening phase and Hazel Grove High School (HGHS) joined the Trust in September 2019.

Laurus Cheadle Hulme (LCH) is a non-selective, non-denominational Free School. It opened in September 2018. We currently have a total of 1071 students on roll.

Cheadle Hulme is a pleasant residential suburb on the edge of the Borough of Stockport, eleven miles south of the centre of Manchester. The location enjoys the advantages of proximity to the open countryside of Cheshire and the Peak District and the cultural and sporting activities of a major city.

Our students are housed in a purpose-built building with access to state-of-the-art facilities and overlooking Bruntwood Park, with our Year 11 students progressing to Sixth Forms in the Laurus Trust. We share the same site as Cheadle Hulme Primary School.

In 2023 Laurus Cheadle Hulme achieved an outstanding set of GCSE results with over 70% of students achieving at least a grade 4 standard pass and 61% a strong pass in English and Maths. Our Year 9 students also received phenomenal results in GCSE Spanish. 89% of our Year 9s achieved the gold standard of a grade 5 or better, 79% of students achieved at least a grade 6 or above and 42% of students achieved at least a grade 7 or above. These results far outstrip national Year 11 figures.

The school is run by the Laurus Trust and replicates the outstanding education offered by the Trust’s founder school, Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), based in Stockport. CHHS is a hugely oversubscribed school and has been named as one of the UK’s top-performing schools in The Sunday Times, ranking as the 15th non-denominational comprehensive school in Manchester and the North West in the annual Parent Power Survey for 2022.
