Job overview

About the role:  Cherry Orchard Primary Academy has a very exciting role - we are seeking to appoint an experienced and efficient Finance and Admin Assistant to join our support team.  The overarching purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive financial support service to the Principal and Finance Manager.  Please note that this is a busy position; our successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritise and also accuracy and attention to detail. Our successful candidate will benefit from being part of an incredibly friendly and highly collaborative team!

The hours are Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day (exact start and finish times to be agreed with the successful candidate).  The basis of this role is 41 working weeks per year made up of Term Time weeks (including 5 inset days), plus two additional weeks throughout the academic year to be agreed with the Finance Manager in advance; we can be flexible on the additional weeks so this role is ideal for those seeking to keep the majority of their school holidays free!  You will be reporting into a highly experienced Finance Manager, and our successful candidate should be able to hit the ground running with a 'can-do' attitude.

For an overview of the specific duties and key responsibilities, please consult the Job Description by clicking here.  This post is offered on a one-year fixed-term basis to begin with, with every intention of becoming permanent in the future.  Our successful candidate will join us as early as possible in November 2018, based on any notice period required.

Working for Cherry Orchard Primary Academy: We are a new academy which opened in September 2017, part of a highly successful multi-academy trust made up of 18 primary, secondary and special schools. This is a rare chance to join a school from an early stage in its journey and play a pivotal role in its success and development.  The role of the Finance and Admin Assistant at Cherry Orchard will grow as the school grows, and the successful candidate should therefore have a desire to progress.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:  As part of Leigh Academies Trust you will have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers and share best practice at Academy level and across the whole Trust.  This is an important part of our vision as we know through experience that we perform better when we work together.  You will also be expected to undertake regular self-development to continue your professional development and hopefully progress further within the organisation. As part of the 'cluster' structure, all of our academies are grouped together in key geographical areas to enable them to be able to support each other and share resources.  It also offers staff access to career opportunities across the Trust allowing them to progress their career without switching employers.   For more information on working for the Trust please visit our careers pages.

Diversity at our core:  As a Trust we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. The Trust is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.  Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust.
