Job overview

We are looking for a highly organised, flexible individual who displays excellent communication and administration skills to join us in the new role of Finance and Estates Administration Assistant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing dedicated administrative support to the Chief Finance Officer and Head of Estates at MARK Education Trust. The post will suit someone who has ideally worked as an administrator in a previous role, is very well organised, has a good eye for detail and can work to deadlines when required.

This role is part-time (30 hours per week) for 52 weeks per year. The 30 hours per week are ideally to be worked over five days, Monday to Friday. However, flexible hours would be considered for the right candidate. Ideally, you will primarily work at our Uplands Academy site in Wadhurst, but the ability to travel to Beacon Academy, Crowborough when required would be an advantage but not essential.

After operating as a Single Academy Trust for several years, we were delighted to become a fully functioning Multi Academy Trust when Uplands Academy joined our first school, Beacon Academy, on September 1st 2022. Our Trust’s motto is ‘ambitious for excellence’, and this applies to all aspects of its work, including governance. MARK Education Trust provides the best possible education for our students, preparing them for life so they can stand equally alongside their peers, locally, nationally and globally.

Closing date: 10am on 20 February 2023

We are a mixed 11–18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development, and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.

We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy, and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

At Uplands Academy, the relationships between our staff and our students are excellent and ones that we are proud of. Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are personalised and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning.   We want our children to be happy, successful, and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students. We want to be an exceptional educational establishment for our community.
