The White Horse Federation (TWHF) is a growing Multi-Academy Trust of schools. We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Finance and HR Lead, to work within John Madejski Academy, a secondary school based in Reading.


 As Finance and HR Lead for this school, you will be working in close collaboration with the School Principal as well as the wider HR and Finance teams within the White Horse Federation and will be responsible for providing financial administration services, budget monitoring and management as well as HR duties including recruitment, pay and absence monitoring.


We are looking for someone with HR and finance experience, ideally within a school environment. This is a great opportunity to join a welcoming and busy school with fantastic plans for the future.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Budget management and monitoring
  • Monitoring school income
  • Coordination and management of trip finances
  • Management of Parentpay
  • Recruitment administration
  • Dealing with pay queries, additional hours and absence returns
  • Absence recording and monitoring
  • Processing new starters and leavers
  • Assisting with employee relations cases
  • Ensuring the SCR is up to date and compliant

 

Our ideal candidate will have:


  • Relevant generalist HR experience and/or Associate Membership of the CIPD
  • Relevant experience in a School Business Finance role and/or financial business qualification
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and Excel 
  • A positive, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to establish working relationships quickly and effectively
  • Ability and means to travel to other sites and external meetings as required
