Job Title: Finance Assistant
Pay Range: Bucks Pay Range 4 Point 21 to 25 (£23,045 to £24,949) full time equivalent
Hours per week: 37 hours per week
Weeks per year: 39 weeks per year
The Aylesbury Vale Academy are seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to work in the Academy Finance Department. This is an exciting time at the Aylesbury Vale Academy, an all-through Academy taking students from nursery right up to the 6th Form. In our new state of the art buildings, the academy is now set on a course of significant growth in an area of the country which is itself seeing a period of significant development. The Finance Department plays a key role in supporting the Academy at this critical stage of development and the deployment of its strategic plan. Reporting to the Finance Director, the responsibilities of the Finance Assistant will encompass:
• The booking/invoicing and collection process for the Wrap Around Care provided by the Primary School
• The monthly VAT claim
• Month end journals and reconciliations
• Monthly payroll checks and journal postings
• Managing the ParentPay payment system
• Cash collection and banking from the catering till system.
• Assisting with ad hoc reports and information for curriculum leaders and senior management
Ideally the candidate will have experience of working in a school finance environment, have good organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure and be a good team player. They must be methodical and logical in their approach as well as proactive, adaptable and flexible in meeting the academy needs.
