Job overview
We are seeking a Finance Assistant who is highly motivated, efficient and enthusiastic to work within the Central Finance Team to provide financial support to the growing number of primary schools within our Multi Academy Trust. The main purpose of the role will be to be responsible for the routine payment of supplier invoices on behalf of all our academies but will also include a number of other routine accounting tasks in support of the Assistant Accountant.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Central Services team, meeting new challenges and driving forward improvements to our welcoming, inclusive academy trust where everyone is valued. We have a strong team culture, where everybody is expected to reflect the Trust values of courage, kindness, love, perseverance and respect.
You will need to have:
4 GCSEs Grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting or the desire to obtain further skills and training
Previous experience of working within a finance team
Previous experience of working in a financial capacity within a school environment would be advantageous
Previous experience of working with the Purchase Ledger
You will also need to:
Be friendly with good interpersonal skills
Have a positive, professional attitude and an excellent telephone manner
Have good organisational skills
Be able to prioritise work to meet deadlines
Have the ability to work on your own initiative
Be passionate about the continual improvement and development of internal financial procedures
