Salary:  FTE £40,975 (this will be pro-rated in line with Academy terms & conditions) 

Actual salary: £21,925 based on 19.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year (term time only plus 2 weeks)

We are seeking a dynamic and forward thinking Finance Director who has the qualities of an inspiring leader and the skills and experience to ensure continued financial sustainability and development of the academy.  

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant who has an understanding of the legal and financial regulations and procedures relevant to the academy sector.  

The successful candidate will be able to successfully lead the finance team, bringing in-depth knowledge and actively contributing to the development of efficient finance systems and process, with a robust but pragmatic internal controls.  Additionally, be self-motivated with a commitment to improving the lives of the children and communities we serve.

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
