Are you an experienced Finance Manager with prior experience of working within a school/academy environment, considering a new professional adventure?  Corelli College, who will be joining Leigh Academies Trust’s family of schools imminently, are a successful academy and now have the opportunity for a qualified and credible finance professional to join our team in this pivotal role.  Our successful candidate will join us as soon after the Easter break as possible, offering a comprehensive financial service to the Principal from the off-set.  Acting as the budgetary advisor to the Principal on all finance-related issues, you will responsible for the financial management within the academy, ensuring that it complies with the requirements of the Trust’s financial policies and processes.

This opportunity is ideal for a candidate who is seeking progression and further responsibility in their career, and looking to join a highly successful multi-academy trust. Our ideal candidate will:

  • have school experience (essential)
  • have experience working with spreadsheets and computerised accountancy software
  • have experience in budgeting and forecasting

Based in Blackheath, London, Corelli College Co-operative Academy is a secondary mainstream school for students aged between 11 and 19. It is a non-denominational establishment which gained academy status in September 2011. The school became a specialist arts college in 2005.

The school believes every student should have an active role in school life. This includes participating in activities outside of the classroom. Pupils should take responsibility for their actions and give guidance to other who may need help, especially to the younger pupils. The students are encouraged to have positive mindsets and be involved in the life of the local community. The school is a union and everyone is expected to be treated as equals.

“The principal, with determined support from senior and middle leaders, has taken uncompromising action to improve the college. There is an absolute commitment to rapid improvement from all leaders and governors. Work to tackle the college’s weaknesses is increasingly successful. As a result, pupils’ experiences of college are positive and outcomes are on an upward path. Pupils’ personal development and welfare are strong. Pupils express eloquent support for the college, praising their teachers and the diversity of the community. The progress of Year 11 pupils in English and mathematics is improving and close to national figures results are improving and nearly all of those taking advanced courses go on to university.”
