We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Finance Manager to join our team, providing professional financial support and leading on the day to day finances of the Academy Trust, ensuring that comprehensive and correct financial information is kept and is made available to the Academy stakeholders as well as ensuring that the financial regulations and requirements placed upon the Academy are upheld. The new Finance Manager will be expected to take a hands-on role within the Trust. The successful candidate will be given a varied role within a growing Trust and the opportunity to widen their skill set.
Duties will involve:
- Actively monitoring and controlling all day to day financial activity, providing timely and accurate monthly management information in the form of budget monitoring reports, cash flow projections and other reports as required
- Supporting budget holders in the management and monitoring of their individual budgets
- Ordering, processing and payment for all goods and services provided to the school
- Maintaining the asset register
- Managing the bank accounts including regular reconciliations
- Under the direction of the Vice Principal of Finance & Corporate Services and the Business Manager lead on the development and implementation of financial policy and procedures
- Line management of the Finance Officers
The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified/Part qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in finance, to include at least two years at management level or significant relevant other on the job experience. Excellent administration skills are required along with experience of working in a busy office environment; a working knowledge of Academy Year End Accounts is desirable. With a good standard of literacy and numeracy, the ideal candidate will have the confidence to make their own decisions, possess the communication and interpersonal skills to deal with potentially sensitive issues and will also have a good standard of practical ICT skills. Experience of SIMS and MS Office packages would be desirable, though training will be provided where appropriate.

Results are excellent with a 100% pass rate for the sixth consecutive year across a range of 27 A-Level subjects. Furthermore, the progress made by VI Form students places them in the top 10% of the country and the top state-funded Post 16 provider in Cornwall.
