This is an exciting opportunity for two ambitious and enthusiastic finance professionals to join the highly acclaimed Cumbria Education Trust, the largest school-based multi-academy trust in Cumbria with a total of 12 schools; 3 secondaries and 9 primaries with another set to join us by the end of the Autumn term.

Finance Manager – Secondaries (William HOWARD SCHOOL) – VACANCY REF: CENS4A

£31,895-£35,336 depending on experience (pay award pending)

FINANCE MANAGER – PRIMARIES - VACANCY REF: CENS4B

£28,226 - £32,798 depending on experience (pay award pending)

Full time 37 hrs per week, part time hours available for the right candidate

These posts are initially temporary for a 12 month period linked to cover maternity leave, however as a rapidly growing organisation, there is the potential for these to become permanent or to offer longer term career opportunities within the Trust for the right candidate(s).

Reporting to the Head of Finance (Chief Finance Officer), the role of the Finance Manager is a key member of the Trust’s finance team and as part of the Trust’s wider central support team, the postholder will play an important role in supporting the direction of the Trust at a time of expansion and growth. Both roles are based the central Trust offices at William Howard School, Brampton with the ability to travel to other Trust schools as necessary. These roles will suit dedicated professionals with strong financial and technical accounting knowledge gained in a multi-complex organisation, preferably with experience of education and /or not for profit sector. The successful candidate will also have:

·     A proven track record in managing finance operations to the highest standard, constantly striving to seek improvements in systems, controls and processes

·     excellent leadership and communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with staff at all levels and build strong working relationships

·     strong IT skills and the ability to manage, manipulate and interpret data, with experience of managing and operating key financial systems

·     the ability to manage time and working to tight deadlines, delegating as appropriate, whilst guiding and influencing the work of others.
