We seek a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic person to provide operational support to the Finance and Operations Manager in the day to day running of the Finance department.  

 

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuing compliance with financial regulations in respect of procurement, fees, account reconciliations, banking and petty cash. On behalf of the Operations Manager, you will monitor the whole school budget set at Finance Committee meetings, preparing monthly reports on variations.

The Team

You will join a small finance team reporting to the Operations Manager, however you will be an integral part of the wider Admin team who are a supportive, experienced body of staff.

As a Local Authority school, you will be in regular contact with the finance team at County Hall and so you will have a network of colleagues externally. 

 

You will need to be suitably qualified for the role, but the school is willing to support CPD for the right candidate.     

 

About You

 

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of accounting procedures, a flexible and positive approach to work and the ability to adapt in a busy environment. You will:

·        Have Level 2 English & Maths

·        Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of success within a finance position

·        Have experience in payroll processes and reconciliations

·        Be qualified to at least Level 3 in accounting, school finance or other related discipline 

·        Be able to demonstrate resilience 

You will also have specific knowledge of school finances, accounting software packages and MS Excel.
