Job overview

Salary: circa £40,000

Location: Based in the Midlands, with travel between academies and to London as required

Academies Enterprise Trust is the largest multi-academy trust (MAT) in the country with a national network of 63 primary, special and secondary academies across England. Under new leadership, with an entirely new executive team and new Trust Board members, AET is now a radically different organisation.  School improvement, governance and finance have been overhauled as part of a trust-wide programme to reform and renew AET and, as such, this is an exciting time to join the organisation.

We are committed to making sure that AET provides a professional, high quality and consistent finance service to our academies to support AET’s vision to become not just the biggest, but the best national MAT.  Children are at the heart of everything we do, and it is our mission to provide first rate education that enables them to thrive in the whole of their lives. This must be supported by efficient, rigorous financial control.   To help achieve this we are building a new central finance team, which means we are recruiting to a number of roles.

We are currently looking to recruit an interim Finance Manager to strengthen our capacity to support Beacon Primary Academy in Loughborough and Tamworth Enterprise College in Tamworth.  The role will report to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and will have responsibility for the day to day leadership and management of financial operations across the academies.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in financial planning and management, have significant experience of the effective use of accounting packages and experience of supervising and coaching a team of staff.

AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy and succeed in an inspiring educational environment, with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. You will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan and childcare vouchers.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible and is fixed term until Monday 31 December 2018.

Closing date: Friday 29 June 2018.

AET was established in 2008 and is now a national network of 57 primary, secondary and special academies. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive network of schools which span nearly every region in the country.

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the organisation, and as we pivot from being in turnaround mode to becoming a high performance organisation on the pathway to sustainable excellence.
