Bacon’s College was established in the Surrey Docks peninsula in Rotherhithe, South East London in 1991 as a City Technology College, becoming an academy in 2007 and joined the United Learning Trust in 2018. Bacon’s has long been an important part of the fabric of the local community in south east London and has served the community in its various forms for over three hundred years. The role

This is a vital support role that will play an essential part in assuring outstanding financial management within the College whilst deputising for the Executive Business Manager in the area of Finance. The role will support the Executive Business Manager with planning and budgeting as well as being solely responsible for the execution of the day to day finance function and operation including overseeing the payroll, the maintenance of contracts, insurances and the asset register.  The Finance Manager will be required to ensure accurate and detailed analysis of the management accounts assuring correct budgetary projections. The role will also support the facilities and IT teams with any business needs under the direction of the Executive Business Manager.

About You

The successful candidate will be qualified in AAT or equivalent or have equivalent experience and will have the ability to work effectively under pressure, both independently as well as part of a team. Strategic thinking is a must whilst not being reticent about getting involved at all levels. Proven experience of general financial management, budget monitoring, forecasting and cashflow oversight is essential. Schools experience would be an asset however outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are crucial. A high level of integrity and skill is fundamental to this role as is an ability to interact successfully with students, staff and parents alike.
