THE ROLE:

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified candidate to provide clerical, administrative and financial support to senior managers and the school. Duties will include managing the processing of all school invoices, ensuring robust systems are adhered to, including delivery checks, invoice authorisation and statement reconciliation. You will process and upload BACs payment runs in line with school policy and oversee that the cashless catering function operates efficiently and effectively in school , dealing with pupil and staff queries. You will maintain and administer the petty cash systems, checking authorities, balancing cash and processing journals and assist with the management and planning of school trips including the collecting of monies, ensuring production of relevant lists.

 

ABOUT YOU:

You will have at least 2 years’ experience in an accounts office environment and sound knowledge of Sales, Purchase and Nominal ledgers. You will have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing and the ability to produce, evaluate and interpret financial management information on a regular basis. You must have information technology skills and be used to producing spreadsheets, using ‘Microsoft’ office systems, and be used to inputting and retrieving information from finance software packages.

Smithills School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Bolton, Lancashire. There are approximately 1200 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
