We are seeking a Finance Secretary to assist the School Leadership Team with a wide variety of administrative and financial tasks to support the financial operations of the school. Under the direction of the Principal, you will coordinate financial administration activities and provide support to ensure the school delivers on key reporting deadlines.
Duties include:
- reconciliation of accounts,
- cashier and banking duties,
- data entry,
- report preparation and
- other office duties assigned as appropriate.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in an accounts or finance role. You will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and be a skilful negotiator who is able to liaise with the school’s clients with empathy.
Additionally, you will be highly organised and be able to demonstrate sound judgement, confidentiality and discretion.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and the BCE finance system, AX Dynamics, is desirable.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
Estimated start date: Commencing 17 April 2023
Position tenure: Fixed Term
Weeks worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)
Tenure duration (where Fixed Term): until 15 December 2023
Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm (Negotiable)
Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 5 - $35.74 per hour
Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
