Requirement to travel between Trust schools.

A vacancy has arisen for a Financial Controller to work at our Trust Central Offices with a committed team of professionals.

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 700 staff.

The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the Trust’s financial reporting including the monthly and annual accounts, delivered through the management of the team. This role requires balancing the hands-on financial management with decision-making through the need for business partnering within the Trust’s environment to maximise the use of resources in order to deliver positive educational outcomes. They will need to deputise for the Director of Finance as necessary. Specific responsibilities will be agreed in line with the successful candidates’ skills and competencies.

The successful candidate will have:

• Relevant qualifications e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA

• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle to access Trust sites (mileage reimbursed)

• Experience of working within a similar supervisory role.

• Experience of working within an education setting.

The role is currently fixed term contract until 31st of August 2020 with the potential to go permanent thereafter.
