Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to assist the Director of Finance in financial planning, reporting and the production of statutory accounts. You will ensure that the systems, processes and reporting functions that form the basis of the financial control arrangements across the Group work effectively and support the Group in achieving its financial objectives.

So, if you hold a professional accountancy qualification and have managed a finance team or experience of working in practice, then we would love to hear from you!

With highly developed communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills, the successful candidate will be results focused and able to work well individually as well as part of a team. With a positive, ‘can-do’ approach, you will be able to coach and advise non-financial managers and have the ability to develop a detailed understanding of the methodologies that fund the Further Education sector although experience within FE is not essential.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses. 

The college is situated in an environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a proximity of the towns of Sutton and Croydon. It is accessible from all areas of south London and its transport links also allow its students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.
