We have a fantastic opportunity at our Biggleswade Campus for an experienced and interactive Food & Nutrition Teacher on a full time, permanent basis. You will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson. 


Key responsibilities: 

• To teach Food & Nutrition to students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 (GCSE and A-Level) 

• To ensure documented lesson plans are delivered to meet the outcomes as set out in the relevant OneSchool Global UK Food & Nutrition curriculum, and the relevant GCSE and City & Guilds Examination Board specifications 

• To plan, implement and monitor schemes of work, lesson plans and student Self-Directed Learning assignments. 

• Be familiar with all relevant Examination Board syllabus documents and the OSGUK subject curriculum and ensure that they are followed and complied with 

• To develop and fully utilise assignments and tasks centred on the school virtual learning environment (Canvas) including homework, quizzes and discussion forums 

• In conjunction with the Campus Principal, SENDCO and CA team, ensure that lesson plans are tailored to accommodate students with an individual learning plan (ILP) and ensure that the lesson plan delivers what the ILP required, primarily through differentiation 

• To set targets, based on prior attainments, and undertake effective, informative marking which will extend and develop all students 

• Develop and maintain links with students, parents, colleagues, line manager, Campus Principal and OSG UK subject curriculum leader 

• Working with the Campus Principal to contribute to a strategic view for the school in it’s community and analyse and plan for its future needs and further development within the local, national and international context 


You will: 

• Have recent experience of teaching Food & Nutrition to students in KS3-KS5

• Have knowledge of GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition exam specifications 

• Have experience of providing appropriate support for SEN pupils 

• Have Qualified Teacher Status and Grade C or above in GCSE English & Maths 

• Have good communication skills written and verbal 

• Be willing to undertake relevant training and identify own development needs 

• To set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels 

• Ensure high standards are maintained, progressed and promoted in all areas of work 

• To perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role

• Uphold and promulgate the OSG ethos within all areas of responsibility

OneSchool Global UK Biggleswade Campus opened in September 2014. Combining the current campus and former Cambridge Campus onto one site in September 2018, it now has students attending that live in a number of surrounding counties.

OneSchool Global UK Biggleswade Campus comprises three buildings, the main building built in 2006 housing classrooms and offices, the multi-purpose Hall block completed in August 2014 containing PE facilities, cookery room and lunch-time Servery, and the new East Block built in 2018 housing classrooms and working areas.

It is a successful school, which received an excellent rating in all areas in their latest inspection in March 2018.
