JOB PURPOSE

The appointee will be a dynamic and inspirational Food and Nutrition Teacher who is able to engage students in a love of learning. The post would suit both newly qualified teachers and those looking to consolidate teaching experience and who want to work in a vibrant engaging and creative environment. The post holder should be a passionate practitioner who can facilitate outstanding learning at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5. This role will also be key in contributing to our school ethos of promoting healthy lifestyles and positive body image to our young aspiring performers. 

This role is a part time post working approximately 16 hours per week across 4 or 5 days.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential 

• BA (Hons) Qualification in a related field

• QTS

RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE

Curriculum

• Teaching of KS3 Food and nutrition as part of our Healthy Performer Programme

• Teaching of KS4 (GCSE Food and Nutrition)

• Teaching of KS4 (ASDAN units relevant to Healthy lifestyles)

To deliver quality of education in the Food and Nutrition department through the promotion of the highest possible standards of education, equality of opportunity, innovative practice, and the development of an environment which is conducive to excellence in learning and teaching, leading to outstanding outcomes.

The Hammond has experienced significant growth over the past few years, leading to the creation of a new Food & Nutrition Teacher role designed to ensure the school and students thrive and continue to take their place as leaders in the performing arts industry. This is an exciting time to join The Hammond as it further develops the plethora of courses offered to students from GCSE and A Level studies, expert training as part of the Trinity Diploma, specialised Theatre Arts training, to the rigour of our Musical Theatre Performance degree in collaboration with the University of Chester.
