Job overview

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Food Technician to work part time with the dedicated and committed D&T department here at St John’s.

Working on Thursday and Fridays from 8.30am – 3.30pm (including half an hour unpaid break), term time and including TD days, the post holder will work with the teaching staff in the preparation of materials and the assembly and organisation of equipment and resources for the classroom use and school events such as open evenings. Ensuring that the specialist food classrooms are well maintained, fully resourced, and adequately stocked. They will also be responsible for liaising with the site team as appropriate re any required repairs and maintenance of equipment and classrooms to allow for the smooth operation of practical lessons. 

The main duties will include assisting with the day to day running of the Food rooms, conducting regular cleaning, including laundry of tea towels, and maintaining rooms as appropriate, whilst supporting within practical lessons.

You will be line managed by the Subject Leader responsible for Food Preparation and Nutrition.
