Overview

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Football Development Officer who is fully aligned to our Trust Vision, Values and Behaviours and the Academy Key Drivers. A genuine passion for Football and a strong commitment to developing young people to achieve their potential is essential. The Football Development Officer will lead on all aspects of the football scholarship programme across Maltby Academy, Sir Thomas Wharton Academy and Collaborative 6th Form.

Our successful candidate will be:

• be fully aligned to the Trust Vision, Values and Behaviours and the Academy Key Drivers;

• an enthusiastic, well qualified football coach able to coach football across the age and ability range; 

• be a driven, proactive and positive individual with a genuine commitment to continuously improving;

• a reflective practitioner with a strong commitment to effective coaching pedagogy;

• have the ability to deliver consistent, high quality coaching sessions; 

• bring an unwavering commitment to promoting the highest standards of Football within the academy; 

• have a true growth mindset and solid work ethic;

• have the knowledge and experience of the context in which Maltby Academy and Sir Thomas Wharton Academy operates.

Maltby Academy is a mainstream, non-selective, state secondary school for girls and boys aged 11-19. The school is situated in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. There are 1,040 children on its roll.
