FOUNDATION & KEY STAGE 1 LEADER

Prasarnmit Primary International Programme seeks an inspirational Foundation and Key Stage 1 Leader.  

In addition to the duties of a class teacher, to be responsible for the planning, teaching and learning within these particular key stages; to be accountable for standards across the area; to liaise with other key stage leaders where necessary; to ensure continuity and progression throughout the curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Teaching & Learning

In addition to the role of class teacher:

  • To review long term planning to ensure coverage, progression and a range of learning experiences across both Key Stages.
  • Liaise closely with the other key-stage leaders to ensure continuity and progression across the Key Stages.
  • To monitor the standards of behaviour and achievement within both Key Stages.

Recording and Assessment:

  • Evaluate and Monitor pupils' progress, achievement and attainment, and report on the effectiveness of provision for pupils across both Key Stages to the Leadership Team.
  • Monitor progress across both Key Stages and ensure appropriate action plans are in place where issues are identified.
  • To monitor and assure the quality of teaching and learning, in line with the school policy. 
  • Collect and interpret assessment data and use this information to report on strengths, areas of development and impact and effectiveness of provision.

Leadership:

  • Establish good relationships, encourage good working practices and support and lead teachers in both Key Stages.
  • Lead staff meetings/inset.
  • Oversee aspects of the phase organisation and management, including preparing agendas and chairing meetings, in order to ensure that school policies and practices are being delivered.
  • Ensure that staff are coached and advised as to how best to ensure consistently high standards are achieved.

Standards and Quality Assurance:

  • Participate in (and lead where necessary) staff training / inset. 
  • Participate in Continuing Professional Development and attend leadership and whole  staff meetings.
  • Support and monitor performance and effectiveness of staff appraisal through leading staff appraisal meetings.
  • Lead the team in moderation and levelling and other adopted systems effectively.

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Support and monitor any teachers on placements in the designated key stage.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Director and PPiP Manager in conjunction with the leadership of both Key Stages or that of a class teacher.


EXPERIENCE AND JOB KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven skills in planning and strategic management.
  • Evaluating standards of teaching and learning and ensuring standards of professional performance are established and maintained.
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner with a commitment to creative learning and teaching.
  • Child-centred philosophy.
  • Commitment to a team approach to working in a primary school.
  • Commitment to liaising and working with parents.
  • Secure in understanding of data tracking and assessment tools.
  • Experience of contributing to the planning and evaluating of successful Key Stage improvement plans.

  • Be able to maintain good behaviour and have strategies for pupil behaviour and management.
  • Highly organised, efficient with good time management skills.
  • Approachable, welcoming with a sense of humour.


QUALIFICATIONS:

B.Ed (Hons) with QTS or equivalent (e.g. PGCE, PGDE).


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent level English speaker.
  • Up to date DBS or police check equivalent to work with children.
  • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum is essential.
  • Knowledge of the IPC curriculum is an advantage.
  • Experience working in Foundation & Key Stage 1.
  • Experience of working with EAL learners.
  • Experience using Classroom Monitor is an advantage.
  • Experience of teaching Read Write Inc. phonics programme  is an advantage.


CONTRACT TYPE:

  • 2 year contract (renewable).
  • Competitive salary (paid in Thai Baht).
