The School
GEMS FirstPoint School is a brand new premium School which opened in September 2014.

Located in The Villa development the school offers a “state of the art” centre of inspirational learning offering the English National Curriculum. Currently open to Year 9, we will build to a full “all through” school from FS to Year 13 of 3,900 students in subsequent years. Students follow Cambridge International Examinations syllabus for IGCSE and A Level programmes of study.

Our curriculum offers a full, broad and balanced range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom, with an emphasis on Enterprise and Technology. There are ties to local culture and tradition and, together with the rest of the school, all Foundation Students study Arabic and UAE Social Studies. The school is a pioneering school for GEMS “Skills in School” initiative with excellent faciliites including ICT Laboratories with Discovery Spaces, I-pads, Interactive Whiteboards and LCD Screens in each classroom, Senior and Primary Libraries, Food Technology Catering Suite, Design Technology and Engineering Workshops, Art and Design Studios, Recording Studio, 500 Seat Auditorium, 25m Swimming Pool, 6 Court Sports Hall, Outdoor Play Areas and Social Spaces.

The Post: Foundation stage teachers

  • Applicants will be qualified teachers, ideally with 1 years’ post qualifying experience, although we will consider applications from outstanding NQT’s
  • Experience of teaching the National Curriculum of England is preferred but not essential
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom
  • An excellent team player both within the department and across phases
  • Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents

GEMS FirstPoint School (FPS), opened in 2014, is positioned in the heart of The Villa community, which is an established, green, residential development located 20 minutes from the centre of Dubai. It is a Premium British Curriculum School, providing an excellent standard of education for over 1700 students from FS1 to Year 13, with exciting plans to add to its state-of-the-art educational facilities in the coming years.

The school has grown rapidly and continues to be popular with families from across Dubai with over 90 nationalities represented. FPS is housed in modern buildings with a separate sports and performing arts centre, swimming pools, theatre, sports hall, dance, drama and music rooms. Our main building contains specialist facilities such as a robotics and electronics lab, food technology kitchen, textiles and design suite, fully equipped Design Technology workshops, science labs and much more.
