Job overview
We are looking to appoint an experienced and inspirational Head or Deputy Head for September 2020 to be the Founding Principal a new school in Madrid, with the ability and vision to ensure a smooth opening in September 2021.
The ideal candidate will be someone who loves a challenge with the vision and the necessary entrepreneurship for a project of this kind. The ability to speak Spanish would be an advantage or the desire to learn would be essential.
The school will initially open the sixth form, with around 40 student in the first year with an optimum of 200 students studying the IB Diploma. The ongoing plan for the school will be to open from Year 7 in three years’ time.
The founding Principal will be required to engage with stakeholders and other relevant authorities and be responsible for student and staff recruitment. He/she be the figurehead for the promotion of the school in the wider community.
The candidate will have experience in:
• international schools
• start–up projects of this kind, would be an advantage but not essential
• working with the IB Curriculum, essential
• UK independent schools
• building projects
• marketing
• admissions
• project management
