Founding Head of School/Principal

An exciting opportunity to become the founding Principal of a new school offering the Cambridge international curriculum, opening in September 2023 in the heart of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The successful candidate should have significant experience as a senior leader in schools offering a similar curriculum, while experience as a member of a Senior Leadership Team opening a new school in similar circumstances would be an advantage.

STS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, SUN VALLEY, DHAKA, BANGLADESH

The opening of STS International School in September 2023 creates an exciting opportunity for an exceptional educational leader to shape and then lead a new 3 to 18 co-educational British-style international school. 

STSIS will offer a rigorous Cambridge International curriculum , culminating in IGCSE, Cambridge GCE AS and A2 Level for students aged 3 – 18. The pre-primary curriculum for children aged 3 to 5 will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage from the UK.

The campus at Sun Valley, 2 km from the American embassy in the central residential and commercial district of Gulshan, is being purpose-built to a design by world renowned architects, CreatEducation UK and Beaumont Partners Thailand in order to establish the kind of innovative learning spaces in which a truly 21st Century education can take place. 

The successful candidate shoul have a global perspective and proven record of relevant leadership in education. while experience as a member of a Senior Leadership Team opening a new school in similar circumstances would be an advantage.

Short-listed candidates must be able to provide a recent DBS check, police clearance certificate or similar record of non-criminality demonstrating that there is no reason why they cannot work with children. 

Interviews of long-listed candidates will be held online from Monday June  30th. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend an online interview and later in person at Dhaka.
