Founding Principal

The Rawabi English Academy is a purpose-built school set in Rawabi City, a brand new and innovative community for Palestinian families set in the rolling hills and olive groves of the West Bank.

The Rawabi English Academy is seeking an outstanding Principal in preparation for the opening of a new school in September 2016. We are seeking a dynamic educational leader with prior experience of leading a school. You should have exceptional interpersonal skills.

As the Founding Principal, you will have the opportunity to shape the vision and future of this ambitious project which will blend the best of British, International and Palestinian education. You will have a wonderful opportunity to contribute not only to the development of the school and its students but to broader Palestine.

You should have a passion for teaching and learning, strength in educational leadership, organizational and financial management skills and the ability to develop and sustain high quality relationship with students, staff, parents and the broader community of Rawabi City.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience of developing curricula in an international context
• The ability to provide outstanding leadership in teaching and learning
• The ability to plan strategically in a developing context
• Experience of leading senior management teams in an international school setting
• The ability to establish effective organizational, community and management relationships
• Cultural sensitivity and a drive to develop the highest moral and ethical standards in students
• A passion to promote lifelong learning
• The ability to motivate and empower staff of different nationalities
• Commercial acumen with experience of developing and managing school budgets

Preferred but not essential

• An understanding of the English National Curriculum and/or Cambridge International Exams
• Experience of working in an Arabic environment
• An ability with spoken Arabic or willingness to learn
