An exciting opportunity has arisen at Minehead Middle School, which is part of the West Somerset Academies Trust. Trustees, staff, parents and pupils are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic French Teacher to work in our team. We are an ambitious school, teaching children from Year 5 to Year 8, located in the popular seaside town of Minehead with access to Exmoor National Park. This striking coastline makes West Somerset a delightful place to live and raise a family

The successful applicant will be a positive, hardworking, skilled and ambitious practitioner who wants to make a real difference to children’s lives and is ready and able to take on a role teaching our children and working in harmony with staff, families and other key stakeholders. Our staff are motivated to improve the learning journey for every single pupil in our care. Staff are dedicated to improving the life chances of the children in our community.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated teacher who has the ability to bring learning to life. You will be able to inspire our children to become independent, enthusiastic learners and be a team player who is eager to take on challenges.

We are looking for a French Teacher who:

• Believes in, and wants to be part of, the vision and values of our school 

• Has a keen interest in language development 

• Can demonstrate successful experience teaching and engaging children’s interest to a high standard.

• Can demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of the French language

The school is located in the beautiful West Somerset countryside in the town of Minehead. Built on a large, central site, the Middle school accommodates 605 pupils aged 9 -13 and employs almost 100 staff.

The school premises now combine the best of modern design with the beautiful old grammar school buildings, creating a secure and welcoming environment which supports and enhances the learning of all our children.

The school boasts spacious playing fields and play areas on a 10 acre site. There is a large hall which is used for assemblies, lunch and theatre performances and a separate, large well equipped gymnasium. There are also specialist rooms for music, science, design and technology (DT) and art.
