An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and innovative, qualified Secondary French Teacher to join our energetic staff. This is a significant part-time fixed-term contract position commencing January 2022 until December 2022. A second teaching method is desirable. The FTE will depend on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including students, parents and colleagues.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and latest research in best teaching practice.
  • The role reports to the Head of Languages.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for, and commitment to this subject area and proven record of high-performance teaching.
  • Ability, experience and interest in teaching other subject areas will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices and sound knowledge of the current VCE French Study Design.
  • Participate in and contribute to the co-curricular and wellbeing programs within the school.
  • Hold a current VIT registration.

The Knox School is a co-educational, non-selective, independent day primary and secondary school, serving students aged 4-18. Located in Wantirna South, Victoria, the school has approximately 700 students and 75 teaching staff. Situated in the Knox area, the school has beautiful grounds and well-equipped classrooms. The Knox School Information Common has multi-media studios, a research centre, a library, counselling and career centres, and an e-book resource bank. Curriculum

The senior school follows the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) curriculum, and most students will take 22 subjects over Years 11 and 12 with plenty of room to specialise. The curriculum is constantly being reviewed to reflect changes in the modern world. Vocational Education and Training (VET) opportunities are also available, including VET hospitality.
