Are you a well organised, effective administrator looking to take on a key role using your interpersonal skills to meet and greet all visitors to the School?

An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding individual to join our School at an exciting point of development.  We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has the confidence and ambition to join our Operations Team to be the first point of contact for pupils, visitors, staff and parents, at the School.  This is a full-time position working within the Operations Team of the School, providing outstanding support and care for the Royal Russell Community.

You will be highly professional, super-friendly, articulate, adaptable, and with the skills and gravitas to build an affinity with the ethos and values of the Royal Russell Community, all whilst maintaining a smart, approachable and dependable attitude.  We are looking for a team player, but someone who can also operate independently, with the confidence to make the right decisions to drive successful outcomes. Above all you will be a positive, friendly and proactive person who wishes to develop your customer-service skills and support the day to day running of our amazing School.

Experience of working in a similar role, such as front of house, a concierge, ex-HM Forces, retired Police, or a security role (think Corps of Commissionaires) would make you an ideal applicant for this role.  You will need to be dynamic and forward thinking, with an alert and customer focussed attitude towards your work, and have the ability to understand why an eye for detail is important.  It goes without saying that you will have excellent inter-personal skills and a willingness to be part of our wonderful community.

Royal Russell School educates over 1000 girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 18 on a beautiful green campus of 110 acres in the Shirley Hills, only 30 minutes from Central London, with excellent transport links, including a tram stop at the entrance to the School.  We have over 150 boarding students in the Senior School, and are proud of our day and boarding facilities that rank amongst the best in the South of England.  Our pupils, parents and staff experience a warm and friendly environment with strong pastoral care for every pupil alongside a comprehensive co-curricular and enrichment programme. Our vision is to provide an outstanding co-educational experience for children as the family school of choice. Royal Russell was judged ‘Excellent’ by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in their last inspection of the School.

Royal Russell offers excellent benefits including a competitive salary on our own salary scale with scope for progression, an outstanding working environment set in our beautiful green parkland estate with easy access to transport links (Coombe Lane tram stop served by the New Addington tram is opposite the School entrance), and being part of the vibrant community of the historic Royal Russell School. We offer:-

  • an immediate non-contributory pension with 7% employer contributions,
  • free life insurance cover of three times annual salary,
  • 30 days paid annual leave per annum,
  • free onsite car parking,
  • free meals,
  • a 50% discount on School fees including wrap-around care and Holiday Club, and
  • the use of our on-site tennis courts, swimming pool and gym facilities, free of charge.
