DAVISON C.E. HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS

FULL/PART-TIME SUBJECT LEADER OF
FOOD PREPARATION AND NUTRITION (TLR2a)
with the ability to teach a second subject desirable

Required from September 2018

TMS/UPR

Davison   is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Subject Leader for Food   Preparation and Nutrition from September 2018. The position requires teaching   and leadership across the 11 – 16 age and ability range. The ability to teach an additional subject would be desirable, however not essential.

Davison C.E High School for Girls is a successful 11-16 school.  Our recent Section 48 SIAMS inspection,   judged us to be an “Outstanding” Church School. Our most recent OfSTED inspection report   (October 2017) highlighted many positive areas including the following:

“The behaviour of pupils in lessons and around the school is exemplary.”

“Pupils’ attitudes to learning are overwhelmingly positive and pupils are eager to do well.”

Food is a very successful subject area and a popular choice at Key Stage 4, due to the excellent classroom practice and technological support currently in place. The new post holder should be able to maintain the high standard of achievement at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE 4+ 71% and 5+ 53.6% in 2017) and to make a positive contribution to school life, extra curricular activities and the Design Technology department. Food Preparation and Nutrition is well resourced with 2 designated food rooms for practical lessons and supported by a technician.

If you are passionate about delivering exciting and innovative Food lessons, have a sound subject knowledge of food and nutrition, and have the ability to engage young people, we would be pleased to receive your application.

The post is subject to DBS clearance and Davison actively promotes the welfare and safety of children. Potential candidates are warmly invited to contact the school for an informal conversation and/or tour, at any point before the closing date.
