The applicant should be educated to degree level with a recognised teaching qualification and the ability to motivate students to realise their full potential. The post is to cover maternity leave and the successful applicant will be teaching Edexcel AS and A2 English Language and Literature (the exam texts are Gatsby, Larkin’s ‘Whitsun Weddings’, Streetcar and the Edexcel Voices in Speech and Writing Anthology). It is possible that the applicant may be required to teach on other of our Level 2 and Level 3 English courses.
The successful applicant will join a large, vibrant and very successful English and Languages department. Previous experience of teaching A Level English is essential. A willingness to support students and act as a Personal Tutor to help students realise their potential is also essential.
