Alleyne's Academy, formerly Alleyne's High School, is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with academy status in Stone, Staffordshire. It caters for children aged 13-18 and is one of three schools founded in 1558 by the 16th century priest, Thomas Alleyne.

Alleyne's was designated a Specialist Technology Status in September 2003 and was renamed on its conversion to academy status in September 2013. Alongside well-equipped ICT, design and technology and science suites, the school’s students have access to a range of sports facilities, including a swimming pool, and a drama studio and theate.

There are over 180 post-16 students studying in the sixth form, where a range of A-levels or BTEC subjects are offered.

Alleyne’s Academy is the only state high school serving Stone and following projections that the intake at Year 9 will increase year on year from 2018, a consultation is taking place which, if plans are supported, will lead to the provision of extra accommodation.

Values and vision

The school motto, used by all three schools founded by Thomas Alleyne, means “without the lord everything is in vain”. A tradition of “caring for success” is being carried forward but the school is continually evaluating its offering and seeking to adapt to developing and changing learning needs.

“Teachers have strong subject expertise, they question pupils skilfully and relationships in classrooms are excellent. Teachers give thoughtful feedback to pupils that helps them improve their work.
