Required from 30th January - 19 July 2023: A Full-Time, well-qualified English teacher to cover maternity leave.

The Nelson Thomlinson School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Wigton, Cumbria. There are approximately 1300 students at the school between the ages of 11-18.
The Nelson Thomlinson School was founded in 1714, with its present school forming in 1969 after joining together with Nelson Thomlinson Grammar School and the Wigton Secondary School. In 2012, a multi-purpose hall was opened by former headmaster, Mr Ireland, which was named The Peter Ireland Building.

The Nelson Thomlinson School wants all students to achieve academic excellence in a caring and nurturing learning environment. It works at maintaining strong relationships with parents and pupils and believes that in order to succeed, a three-way partnership needs to exist. The school has the motto: Fide et Operis, translating from Latin to Faith and Works. Ofsted’s most recent visit in October 2023 highlighted our strong traditions and a school where pupils (and staff) are proud to live out it’s values.
