Box Hill School is a co-educational community of 425 girls and boys aged 11 to 18, whose educational ideals and practice are designed to get the best out of each student. The school follows the philosophy of Kurt Hahn, founder of Gordonstoun in Scotland: while placing academic work at the heart of a school, Hahn stressed the importance of an all-round education as a preparation for life. The right candidate will be able to teach a range of abilities and have a clear vision of how to maximise achievement in our students and ensure that learning is an enriching and challenging experience for all.
Box Hill School wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic teacher to work with the Head of Department and the Key Stage 3 History coordinator in continuing the development of this successful and innovative History department. The History Teacher will be expected to work in consultation with the Head of Department and other teachers within the department to deliver an effective and dynamic History curriculum. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a varied timetable from Year 7 up to and including Year 13 A Level and Year 13 IB Higher Level as required and have a clear vision of how to maximise achievement in our students and ensure that learning is an enriching and challenging experience for all. The ability to teach an additional subject would be advantageous. We aim to appoint colleagues who will involve themselves wholeheartedly within our community and who see teaching as a way of life, not just a job.
