An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, learner-focused, inspirational Functional Skills English teacher to join the Essential Skills including English and Maths Department.

Functional Skills English Teacher

Essential Skills

18.5 hours per week

Scale T2 11,492 - 12,532 (Performance related pay up to £32,642 pro rata)

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting learners within the Department and the workplace to achieve their learning goals and ambitions. They will plan, prepare and deliver inspiring and engaging lessons, and work with the Course Leader to oversee the implementation of essential skills assessment procedures. They will further promote independent learning outside of the classroom by providing advice and guidance on effective learning and study support strategies.

The successful candidate will be learner-focused and target driven; their learners will be supportively stretched and challenged to achieve their full potential and their natural learner-first approach will result in ‘outstanding’ care, guidance, support and results for all learners.
