Gardener & Grounds Person

This leading HMC co-educational School seeks to appoint a Gardener & Grounds Person to join the enthusiastic and professional support team.


The successful candidate/s will maintain the large proportion of the School estate which is set aside for gardens/ grounds and propose improvements and schemes for the extensive flower beds in the school grounds and green areas including sports venues.


Applications for both roles are invited from enthusiastic individuals who work well individually and as part of a team. It is desirable that the successful candidate/s have some experience of working in a school environment.


For the position of Gardener, you will ideally have a recognised horticultural qualification, along with a passion for plants and a flair for garden design. 


The position of Grounds Person will be required to work alongside the gardening team to ensure the school grounds, including hedges and trees and external sports facilities are appropriately maintained throughout the year. A qualification in grounds or turf management is desirable, as is a PA1 / PA6 spraying certificate. 


The starting salary for both roles will be in the range £20,000 - £25,000 based on relevant experience and there is a wide range of other benefits associated with working at the school.
