Gas Assessor / Tutor

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic Domestic Gas Assessor/ Tutor within our Engineering & Construction Department specialising in Gas with experience of carrying out in center gas assessments. Experience of Plumbing and delivering apprenticeships at Level 2 and Level 3 including Standards would be advantageous. 


The successful candidate will be required to carry out in center gas assessments within our Assessment Center in a realistic working environment at Chesterfield College. The Gas Assessor/Tutor will be responsible for ensuring that all elements of the Gas outcomes are achieved within the set timeframes, including the planning and delivery through direct liaison with all staff involved within the Apprenticeship programme. The applicant will also be responsible for supporting the whole learner journey including advice and guidance, the sign up process and employer liaison where required.


Applicants must be technically qualified in domestic gas installation/maintenance and hold a current certificate of gas safety competence that is not more than 5 years old (current ACS Certificates), occupational competence in Gas, and hold the Assessors A1 Award (TDLB D32/D33) or full TAQA 301 Award and be willing to work towards the V1 Award (TDLB D34) TAQA 401 Award.  Training/Teaching/Basic Skills qualifications would be an advantage, although not essential. Excellent communication skills and a professional outlook are essential. Flexibility to work additional hours when required and undertake travel is also essential.
