Job overview

Vacancies to mark the new GCSE History papers

Be part of a growing community of teaching experts marking this popular new specification

We are looking to partner with a number of History teachers to join our team of examiners to be the first to examine the new History papers and build your knowledge of the papers.

Here are the top reasons why teachers apply to mark:

  • build knowledge of the specifications
  • free training and insight
  • looks great on your CV and supports career progression
  • boosts your income ahead of the summer holidays
  • enhanced expertise to prepare students

What the role involves

Marking and standardisation is online which gives you lots of flexibility to work around your teaching commitments. We will provide you with training, access to videos and webinars and exemplar materials that not only support your role as an examiner, but also the preparation of your students. The marking period will start shortly after the exam has been sat and will continue for around 3 weeks.
Earnings in your first year will be between £500 and £1,000. This will rise in subsequent years should you choose to increase your allocation, which we keep smaller in your first year.
How to apply

It's simple. Complete the online application form via our website aqa.org.uk/apply. We’ll process your application the next working day.
