Job overview

"Learning Changes Lives!"

We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational teacher of Geography to join our committed team of practitioners in delivering a curriculum which informs, transforms and generates a lifelong love of learning.

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy opened in September 2014 and is moving into its brand new buildings in July 2017. We are sponsored by the Coloma Trust, the founders of the highly successful Coloma Convent Girls’ School and also sponsors of The Quest Academy.

The Academy achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.19 and a ranking of “above average” in the recently published performance tables due to the outstanding achievement of our students across the curriculum in 2016.

We work in partnership with a number of educational organisations to provide an excellent standard of ongoing professional development and, as a growing school working alongside the other two schools in the Trust, opportunities for progression through our middle-management and leadership structures.

The Academy benefits from an on-site nursery recently rated as “Good” in all aspects by Ofsted catering for pre-school students from birth to reception age.

About The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy is a truly unique institution: we are a modern, vibrant community and yet one with a long and historic tradition of educating students from the three London boroughs on whose crossroads we sit- Croydon, Merton and Sutton. In our various incarnations we are an educational establishment that has been around since 1931.

We pride ourselves on being a truly diverse and welcoming Academy with a genuinely international perspective, whilst also being at the heart of our local community; with excellent transport links, via tram or bus, students are able to travel easily to our gates.

No one who steps across our threshold fails to be impressed by the dedication and commitment of our entire community to realising our vision “to be an outstanding learning community where every individual is enabled to achieve their true potential”.
