This is an opportunity to ensure Geography remains a popular subject and students continue to achieve excellent results at Wimbledon High School.
As a key member of the Geography Department, you will contribute to providing an excellent education by teaching with expertise and enthusiasm, encouraging students to think about the dynamic interaction between people and environments and to develop the skills that will be transferable to a wide range of situations. You will also offer support to the learning of individual students and contribute to the school’s pastoral system.
You will be encouraged to bring your own geographical interests into lessons and schemes of work. The ability to teach Geography from KS3 up to A level is essential (Physical Geography specialism desirable). (NQT’s may be considered).
Geography at Wimbledon High School:
We are a supportive and ambitious department, sitting within the wider Humanities Department. We enjoy great success in placing students to read Geography at university, including places at Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions. Fieldwork is considered an essential part of Geography, and trips are offered to each year group, as well as bi-annual visits to Iceland and China.
